Matthew Parkes (1961-2020) was an Assistant Keeper for the Natural History Collections at the National Museum of Ireland. His areas of expertise included Earth Science collections and Irish palaeontology and geology. He was the editor of Natural and Cultural Landscapes: The Geological Foundation (2004).
