Laurence Marley is a lecturer in modern Irish and British history at the National University of Ireland, Galway. His publications include Michael Davitt: freelance radical and frondeur (Four Courts Press, 2007), and (edited) The British Labour Party and twentieth-century Ireland (Manchester University Press, 2016). He is a former co-editor of Saothar, journal of the Irish Labour History Society.
