Brian Hanley is assistant professor in twentieth-century Irish History at Trinity College Dublin. He was written widely on Irish republicanism and is currently examining the global impact of the Irish Revolution. His most recent book was The impact of the Troubles on the Republic of Ireland, 1968?79 (Manchester University Press, 2018).
