John Agnew
John Agnew is Distinguished Professor of Geography at the University of California, Los Angeles and has a visiting position at the School of Geography, Archaeology and Palaeoecology, Queen's University Belfast. He is very widely published in political geography and was co-founding-editor of the journal Geopolitics. He is a past-president of the Association of American Geographers, a Guggenheim Award winner, and recipient of the Distinguished Scholarship Award from the Association of American Geographers. Among his many books are Globalization and sovereignty (2009), Hegemony: The new shape of global power (2005), and Reinventing geopolitics: Geographies of modern statehood (2001).
