Elaine Sisson is a cultural historian and senior lecturer in Visual Culture at the National Film School, Institute of Art, Design and Technology. She has broadcast and published widely on early twentieth-century Irish visual and literary culture. Her research into Irish modernism and bohemian culture, incorporating theatre and costume design, cinema and popular performance, is explored in a forthcoming book on the Irish Free State.
