Damian Shiels is a conflict archaeologist and historian. He has undertaken archaeological analysis at a number of revolutionary-era sites, including the first archaeological analysis of an Irish revolutionary landscape, which focused on the operational area of an IRA company in Cork. He established the Landscapes of Revolution Archaeology project and has published and lectured widely on Irish conflict archaeology.
