Breandán Mac Suibhne is a historian of society and culture of modern Ireland at the National University of Ireland, Galway, where he leads Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge. Among recent publications are The end of outrage: post-Famine adjustment in rural Ireland (Oxford University Press, 2017) and Subjects lacking words: The grey zone of the Great Famine (Quinnipiac University Press, 2017).
